Clinical Review Improvements

Enhancements to the AI-powered clinical review system, including improved NCD and LCD hierarchy logic that follows the CMS order of operations more precisely. The system checks National Coverage Determinations first, then Local Coverage Determinations, then Articles -- ensuring the most authoritative policy is always applied.
Multiple CPT/HCPCS Clinical Review

Support for clinical review across multiple procedure codes within a single authorization request. Previously, clinical review focused on a single primary code. This enhancement evaluates each CPT and HCPCS code in the document against its applicable coverage policies.
Multi-Attachment Email

Document Intelligence Enhancements

Recently shipped improvements to the document intelligence pipeline:
Sub-document detection: Automatically identifies when a single fax contains multiple document types bundled together
Document splitting: Splits bundled documents into individual reviewable sub-documents
Intelligent grouping: Related documents are auto-grouped by member (e.g., a discharge summary and auth request for the same patient are kept together)
Configurable grouping rules: Admins can customize which document types belong to which logical buckets

Concurrent Review Expansion (Outpatient)

Extending concurrent review capabilities beyond inpatient stays to outpatient Part B therapy services, including Physical Therapy (PT), Occupational Therapy (OT), and Speech Therapy. Currently, concurrent review is available for inpatient authorizations only.
Page Number Referencing in Clinical Review

Adding exact page number citations to clinical review evidence. When the AI identifies supporting evidence for a criterion, it will cite the specific page in the source document where that evidence was found. This makes it faster for nurses to verify AI findings.
Duplicate Fax Detection

Enhanced duplicate detection that identifies identical pages across separate fax submissions. Goes beyond the current document-level duplicate detection to catch page-level duplicates that arrive in different fax batches.
Clinical Review to EHR Submission

Push clinical review data directly to your EHR system as an attachment or structured line items alongside the authorization. This eliminates the need to manually enter clinical review findings into the EHR after completing the review in Lilee.
Letter Generation

Automated generation of approval and denial letters based on clinical review outcomes. Letters are populated with patient data, clinical rationale, and determination details. Builds on the existing nurse's review note generation to cover the full range of determination communications.
Revenue Code to CPT Translation

Automatic translation of revenue codes (e.g., 0420) to their CPT equivalents (e.g., 97530) for NCD/LCD policy lookup. This is important for inpatient admissions and Part B therapy cases where revenue codes are used instead of CPT codes. Pending completion of the NUBC licensing process.

InterQual / MCG Integration

Integration with third-party clinical criteria libraries (InterQual and MCG) beyond the current Medicare NCD/LCD coverage policies. This would allow clinical reviewers to apply commercial criteria sets directly within Lilee's clinical review workflow.
Auto-Detect Concurrent Reviews

Automatic detection of incoming requests that relate to an existing authorization. The system would check whether an auth already exists for the member and service, and auto-flag the incoming request as a concurrent review rather than a new authorization.
Faxback Workflow

A workflow for returning incomplete or unreadable faxes to the sending provider with a request to resubmit. Includes automated generation of a faxback cover sheet explaining what is missing or illegible.
Microsoft Teams Integration

Ellie Next-Actions Automation

Ellie proactively suggests next actions from the dashboard -- a horizontal bar at the top of the screen recommending the most important actions based on the current document, case status, and turnaround time priorities. When approved by the user, Ellie executes the actions automatically.
